Trade Unions and Industrial Relations

In the current economic climate we are seeing more and more evidence of industrial unrest in unionised workplaces. The recent Electricians strike highlights the challenges facing employers who are governed by ERO's or REA's. While the current Bank strike involving members of the UNITE trade union remphasises the importance of having sound Industrial Relations procedures and agreements in place. 

 

Businesses who do not currently recognise Trade Unions may face demands for Union recognition and associated industrial action as they try to manage their costs and seek changes to terms and conditions of employment.
